Joseph Capitano, Sr. Joseph Capitano, Sr. is a native Tampan. He is married to the former Gilda Ferlita, they have six children. A graduate of Jesuit High School of Tampa, where he presides on the school's Foundation Board. Joe is a graduate of Florida Southern College where he earned a Bachelor's of Science in Accounting. There he became a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Upon graduation, Joe joined his father Nick in the petroleum business at Radiant Oil Company, where together they built one of the largest and respected petroleum distributorship in the South East. Over the years Joe has remained extremely active within his industry, and served as the president of Florida Petroleum Marketers Association (FPMA) in 1982. He was recognized and inducted to the FPMA Hall of Fame in 1995 for his tireless work, concern and lobbing for the association and industry. Today, Joe serves as Chairman of the board of the Radiant Group, LLC and has transitioned the day to day operations to the third generation. Joe served as President of the Italian Club of Tampa from 1996 to 2004. During his administration he led in the restoration of the historical building that was built in 1912, returning it to its rightful place of elegance in the community. In addition, under his leadership, the club’s Annex building, which at one time housed the medical clinic for its members, was renovated into professional office space. As President, he further served to unify its members in further embracing their culture and heritage. Today, the club showcases its heritage through Festa Italiana, which serves as the clubs annual primary fund-raising event. Festa Italiana is now in its 11th year and brings over 25,000 people to Ybor City, to enjoy the rich Italian traditions of our community.
Jennifer Lux Jennifer Lux has extensive experience in marketing, sales, community relations, and event operations in the political and business arenas. She most recently served on the Advance Team for McCain/Palin 2008 as the National Advance Lead for Cindy McCain and the McCain family. In addition, she served as Staff Lead for Senator John McCain. Jennifer has held marketing and sales positions in the telecommunications, staffing, and pharmaceutical industries with Fortune 100 companies. She has also utilized her talents to further the cause of myrid community and civic organizations. She graduated with Bachelors of Science degrees in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems from Troy State University and an MBA from the University of South Florida with a focus in Marketing and Management.
Paul M. Phillips Paul M. Phillips was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. After high school, Paul joined the United States Marine Corps, and served as a command center specialist for Commander, Marine Forces Pacific where he earned a Navy Achievement Medal for his service. Paul also earned his Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Finance, in 1995, from Hawaii Pacific University while on active duty with the United States Marine Corps. After serving in the Marine Corps, Paul began a career in finance as an investment analyst, and eventually moved into securities trading and asset management positions. While working as a portfolio manager, Paul earned a Masters of Science in Finance and his Chartered Financial Analyst Designation. He continued to manage fixed income asset portfolios ranging from $1 billion to $325 billion until 2005, when Paul began working in structured finance as Vice-President, Capital Strategies for Washington Mutual Bank. During this time, Paul was instrumental in developing the first REIT preferred hybrid security, as well as the inaugural U.S. Covered Bond offering, which was named the EuroWeek, 2006 Overall Deal of the Year. Paul earned his law degree from Seattle University School of Law and is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida. Paul is currently an attorney with Igler & Dougherty, P.A. and specializes in banking, securities, and financial law.
